As Rome was a great empire, that of Augustus Caesar and Israel has been ordered by King Herod regulated, in the village of Nazareth lived Joseph and Mary. Joseph was a carpenter and Mary was a young woman who would become his wife. One day the emperor sent message that all people for a new tax register. They were instructed to return to their birth cities. Joseph and Mary leave Nazareth to Bethlehem. Mary, with child and close to the birth, rode on a donkey, while Joseph was next to her. They traveled for many days and were still only at night. When they reached Bethlehem, it was night. They searched for a place to rest, but there were no empty spaces when they reached the inn. While they were turned away, said Joseph, that his wife and child and close to birth. The guest house guard took pity on them and told them some caves in the nearby hills, the shepherd dogs with their cows and sheep would remain. So Joseph and Mary grew up in the hills and found the caves. In a cave was a stable area. Joseph cleaned it and made beds of fresh hay. He found a feeding trough, which he cleaned with hay and filled in order to use as a crib. The following night Mary entband a son and they called him Jesus, because the angel had said. When the child was born, appeared a big star on Bethlehem, for miles around could be seen. In the fields nearby the shepherds tended their quantities. An angel appeared to them surrounded by bright light. The shepherds were to run scared and tried. "Fear not," said the angel, "For me you get news of great joy. For to you is this day in Bethlehem - a saviour was born, Christ the Lord." ; "And this is a sign to you. You will find the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger." Suddenly the sky was filled with angels and praised God and speaking, "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward men." After the angels abreisten the shepherds who set out for Bethlehem. When they reached the cave, they found that the stable and the interior of the child, which was wrapped, in swaddling clothes. |
